OUR STORY

Calvary’s story began in an old church in Madison County. During a revival in 1979, Carl Cureton came to faith in Jesus and answered the call to preach. Out of that revival, Calvary began to take shape. People gathered, a congregation formed, and the church put down roots in this community. Over the years, those people built a shared life together. When a fire destroyed nearly all of Calvary’s facilities in 1997, the congregation spent the next two years meeting in the gym while the church was rebuilt. Today, we’re helping people know Jesus, build lasting friendships, and put their faith into practice where they live and work. We’re grateful for the people who brought Calvary this far and we’re making room for the people who will help shape what comes next. What began with a revival in 1979 is still unfolding here in Madison County.
